Louisiana Heart Hospital, Caritas, Sacred Heart
Our clients were responsible for establishing Louisiana Heart Hospital in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. They worked hard to build its reputation until the investors pulled the plug. The shutdown was announced without notice or the setting of clear dates when the 700+ physician, nurses, and staff would be losing their jobs. Similarly, the shutdowns without sufficient notice at two Caritas hospitals, St. John’s and Mary Immaculate, in New York City and Sacred Heart Hospital in Chicago cost all the employees their jobs. Jack and René brought these bankrupt hospitals to court and reached settlements, enabling millions of dollars to be distributed to these employees.
